Sunday marks the last day to enjoy “Spring View” at SHY RABBIT before it closes after gallery hours.
You don’t want to miss this impressive three-person show, featuring original reductive woodcuts by nationally recognized printmaker and SHY RABBIT Gallery Artist, Jean Gumpper; nature-inspired ceramics by North Carolina artist, Jeff Pender; and skillfully crafted sculptural and functional ceramics and unique hand-pressed monoprints by Colorado artist, D. Michael Coffee.
An assortment of fine art prints is also on display in SHY RABBIT’s foyer and print studio galleries by select gallery artists.
SHY RABBIT is located, to the surprise of many, in a commercial district on the west end of Pagosa Springs, in a metal building that once housed an auto repair shop.
SHY RABBIT is open to the public Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at no charge, and daily by chance.
Visitors are welcome to tour the 4,000 square-foot contemporary art space at their leisure, and to take in all that SHY RABBIT has to offer.
SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts houses a fine art gallery and working ceramic studio, two mixed-media workshops and rotating exhibition spaces. Studio members can often be found working in the ceramic studio during gallery hours.
Since opening in 2004, SHY RABBIT has gained widespread notoriety as the area’s leading contemporary art destination and teaching facility.
Printmaking, ceramic and artist professional development classes of all levels are held year round, and are instructed by professional artist D. Michael Coffee.
SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts; Gallery, Studio and Workshops is located at 333 Bastille Drive; two blocks north of U.S. 160, off of North Pagosa Boulevard, west of the City Market complex in Uptown Pagosa Springs.
Ample parking is available directly in front of the building.
