Countdown to six weeks of crazy fun

From computer technology to cooking classes, Kamp Pagosa Kids features six weeks of exciting fun for kids of all ages and interests.

June 13-17. TechnoKids. Children learn to navigate around the computer with fun projects while learning basic to intermediate computer skills. A pirate theme, photography, and video production will be the featured projects.

Class size limited to 12. Ages: 7-10. Registration fee: $20.

June 20-24. Children’s theater workshop. A workshop for aspiring young actors and actresses. Children will learn voice projection, work on stage presence, dance, costuming, and creative movement. A showcase performance will conclude the workshop.

No class size limit. Ages: 8 and up. Registration fee: $20.

July 11-15. Sports Camp. Brush up on your skills before school starts! Athletes from Pagosa High School will work on drills and skills with each camper. Soccer, basketball, cheerleading, wrestling, football, and baseball skills offered. Class size is limited to 15 for each sport so register early to reserve your spot!

Class size limited to 15. Ages: 7-10. Registration fee: $15.

July 18-22. Weird Science. Ooey, gooey, slicky, slimy science fun and factoids. Kids will have a blast experimenting with chemicals in the kitchen and making crazy weird things like monster boogers The week will conclude with a mini “science” fair.

Class size limited to 12. Ages: 7-10. Registration fee: $15.

Aug. 1-5. Everything Water ... and a little hiking mixed in. Join us for a week of water and hiking adventures in and around the town. First Aid/CPR/Water and Outdoor Safety class included in the camp. River play, Piedra Falls, Durango Recreation Center are just a few of the attractions for the week.

Class size limited to 15. Ages: 9-12. Registration fee: $30.

Aug. 8-12. Kids in the Kitchen. Aspiring young chefs learn menu planning, kitchen safety, nutritional labeling, shopping and, of course, cooking too! Each class features cooking a main dish, side dish, and dessert. Field trip and visit with a local chef included. We eat what we cook, so come hungry.

Class size limited to 12. Ages 8-12. Registration fee: $50.

Each camp costs $120 for the week and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration fees vary according to the camp theme and the registration fee includes reserving your camp space and all camp curriculum/materials, field trip fees, transportation costs, and a camp T-shirt. Class sizeso reserve your spot early.
