Temporary traffic delays expected on Fosset Gulch Road

Ongoing construction on the northern Fosset Gulch Road (Forest Service Road 613) accessed from U.S. 160 could result in traffic delays of up to half an hour during May and June.

Crews will be conducting road maintenance and gravel hauling to finish a pipeline and road project that began last summer and was then put on hold over the winter.

The public should also be ready for unexpected changes in road conditions and heavy truck traffic on this portion of the road.

Signs will be posted and flaggers used, as necessary, to manage traffic and provide for public safety.

The work is authorized under special use permits issued by the San Juan National Forest to Fosset Gulch Pipeline Company LLC and Petrox Resources Inc. for construction and operation of natural gas and water pipelines within the road corridor, and road reconstruction and maintenance. The work is part of a larger project that will connect natural gas wells in the Fosset Gulch area to gas transmission pipelines in southern Colorado.
