Memorial Day weekend May 27-30 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) is Local Appreciation Days at Chimney Rock Archaeological Area.
The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association invites all Archuleta County residents to visit Chimney Rock and be appreciated. So, get out your comfortable shoes, call your friends and make a day of it.
Enjoy half-priced guided tours at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m. The guided walking tours average about 2-2.5 hours. Discounted prices are adults/$5; children 5-11/$2.50; under 5/always free.
Chimney Rock Archaeology Area is located 17 miles west of Pagosa Springs on U.S. 160 and three miles south on Colo. 151. Turn right at the gate and follow the road one half mile to the cabin registration area where the tours begin. No reservations are needed for the tours.
