Student art exhibit
Pagosa Springs Arts Council’s exhibit season opened with the Student Art Exhibit Grades 7-12 Friday night, May 6, to an enthusiastic crowd.
The show highlights some of the 2011 senior graduates as well as the many Intermountain League Art Show winners.
This exhibit showcases some of the talented student artists in our area. A wide variety of media is represented, including charcoal, sculpture, photography, acrylic paint, graphite, ceramic and mixed media. Each student portrays a unique view and style in their artwork. The level of creativity reaches out to viewers and encourages thought and contemplation, creating an interaction with the artwork. We thank these students for their entries and are proud to present this exhibit at Estudio Y Galeria located at 84 Goldmine Drive. Gail Hershey, middle school art instructor, and Janet Knocke, high school art instructor, are the coordinators of this special art show, which will run through May 20.
Youth art classes
Spring/summer editions of Youth Art Classes are open to the public and especially to home-schooled students who are in need of art in their curriculum. For more information, call Estudio Y Galeria at 264-1007.
