Members and guests at the Pagosa Springs Women’s Club meeting in April were charmed and encouraged by the fun and informative program presented by Laura Moore of the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.
Laura detailed the hard work and often serendipitous events which have occurred in their efforts to meet the deadline for a grand opening, “that only happens once.” She outlined upcoming events at the center and Thingamajig Theatre for adults, children, and families. Laura has found her passion, and our community is fortunate that she and her husband chose Pagosa Springs as the venue for their life’s work.
On Wednesday, May 11, at 11:30 a.m. at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant, members and guests of the Club are invited to enjoy lunch, socializing, and a guest speaker. Our speaker will be Tessa Michaelson Schmidt, assistant director of the Ruby Sisson Library.
Tessa has a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin, and will share with us how the staff works to meet the current and future needs of the library’s patrons. She will discuss programs, services, and resources available now such as downloading e-books and audio books, and taking online classes, as well as ongoing and upcoming changes at the library, including a new program room and grant for technology instruction.
We always welcome guests and new members, so please call Sharee Grazda at 731-0666 for more information or to make a lunch reservation.
