Pasqualita Maez, 95, passed away on April 6, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Martha, and son in-law, Dee.
Pasqualita was born May 1, 1915, in Lone Tree, Colo., to Elias Romero Sr. and Cerila (Sepulveda) Romero. She was the wife of Christobal E. Maez.
Survivors include George Maez and wife, Anna, of Pagosa Springs; Dora Rivera, of Pagosa Springs, Violet Echavarria (Mariano), of Pagosa Springs, Eddie Maez (Norma) of Mauston, Wis.; Martha Maez (Dee) of Pagosa Springs; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; sisters Juanita Gallegos, of Pagosa Springs, and Viola Baca, of Denver, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Christobal B. Maez; sons, Herman Maez, Ross Maez, Mattias Maez and Modesto Maez; granddaughter Kristina Martinez; great-granddaughter Aliya Lucero; sisters Fanny Romero and Delphina Pineda; brothers Elias Romero, Jr., Jenaro Romero, Waldo Romero and Guy Romero, Sr.
Rosary will be held Thursday, April 14, at 6 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs. Services will be held Friday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, officiated by Father Carlos Alvarez. Place of burial will be at Hill Top Cemetery, at a later date.
