“There Ain’t Nothin’ Like a Dame,” but we need men who can sing!
Music Boosters is holding auditions this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to fill roles for the upcoming production of “South Pacific.”
The production will be presented June 24-26, and again on June 30, July 1 and 2 at the high school auditorium.
All ages are invited to try out, but we are searching in particular for adult males with singing ability and some stage experience. If you don’t have the stage experience, we can work with you.
Music Boosters is a non-profit 501-3C that donates all of its profits to local causes, focusing on scholarships for students who will major in the performing arts (music, theater, dance) at post-secondary institutions. Our shows are the vehicle for raising the funds, which not only provide for these scholarships as well as support for school music programs, but enable the organization to sustain itself.
So, come out and help us put on a show. We welcome backstage and front-of-house support, so if performing is not your thing, contact us and let us know what you’d like to do to help.
For the auditions, please come prepared with a song, preferably a Broadway show tune, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing that you can dance in. You will be asked to read from a script as well as perform a choreographed number with a group of other auditionees.
Auditions conclude promptly at 4 p.m., so please come early. Kindly bring your music if at all possible. An accompanist will be provided.
For further information contact Dale Morris at 731-3370 or Lisa Hartley at 731-2130. You can also visit the website, www.pagosamusicboosters.org.
See you this Saturday!
