9Health Fair events have been supporting free and low-cost health screenings and education for 32 years in communities across Colorado, and Pagosa Springs has been one of those communities from the outset. This spring over 150 fairs will be held across the state, supported by over 19,000 volunteers.
Our goal shares the mission of this organization — to promote health awareness and encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.
Plan to visit the 9Health Fair on Saturday, April 2, at the Pagosa Springs High School between 7 a.m . andnoon. You will find almost two dozen medical screenings and interactive education centers available at low or no cost to you and staffed by concerned local volunteers.
Diagnosis is not allowed at any of the screenings and interactive education centers. Participants will have the chance to discuss health concerns in strict confidence and for no cost whatsoever at the “Talk with a Health Care Professional” station.
Available at a very low cost is the Blood Chemistry Analysis ($30), Prostate Cancer Screening ($25), Blood Count Test ($15), Vitamin D screening ($40) and the colon cancer screening kit ($20). Cash and checks are accepted for payment.
If you are unable to attend the fair in Pagosa, you can find other site locations and times by contacting 9Health Fair at (800) 332-3078 or at their website, www.9HealthFair.org and click on “Find A Fair.” For example, there is an event at the Bayfield Elementary School (511 Mustang Lane) on April 30 from 7 a.m. to noon and in Alamosa (8900 Independence) on April 1 from 7 to 11 a.m.
Bring a family member, bring a friend, and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
