‘A Little Black Dress Affair — The Animal Within’

It’s time!

Ladies, get your little black dress and animal print accessories ready, gather your girlfriends, and step out to enjoy a glamorous evening just for “big girls.”

The board and staff at Seeds of Learning invite you to “A Little Black Dress Affair — The Animal Within,” an elegant evening of fashion and fun for women. This “Affair” will be held Saturday, March 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ross Aragon Community Center.

Ladies attending will enjoy a fashion show presented by Goodman’s Department Store, featuring spring fashions modeled by Pagosa celebrities. Several precocious little girls from Seeds of Learning will model adorable dresses and skirts fashioned by Little Weedz. Attendees will be able to place orders with Little Weedz that evening with a portion of the proceeds going to Seeds of Learning.

Delectable appetizers prepared by the Alley House Grille will be served complemented with wines under the label “Little Black Dress” provided by Mountain Spirits (cash bar). Sumptuous desserts from the Alley House will be accompanied with coffee provided by Higher Grounds.

Mary McKeehan promises to surprise everyone with some outrageous entertainment and J.P. Rappenecker will keep the evening lively with a variety of high energy music.

Among the many splendid items in the silent auction there will be a beautiful raccoon jacket valued at $2,500, an autographed Avalanche jersey, as well as many many “girly” gifts. You will also have the opportunity to win a $1,000 gift certificate, generously donated by Goodman’s Department store.

Ladies attending will surely be dazzled by the ambiance for the evening. Animal prints and palm trees will create a safari-like atmosphere and inspire attendees to bring out the “Animal Within.” Special gifts for all attendees will be set at each table provided by Queen Bee Lynne Killey, Switchback Mountain Wear and Glisten Soap Company.

For the guys, Pagosa Brewing Company and Grill is hosting a “man cave” party at the same time. The guys will enjoy fun provided by Tony Simmons as well as prizes and gift certificates. Guys will also be able to bid on an autographed Avalanche shirt provided by Will Spears. A portion of the proceeds for the guy’s event will be donated to Seeds of Learning. No little black dresses allowed, and no tickets needed!

A limited number of tickets for the “Affair” are still available for advance sale at Seeds of Learning. Please call Seeds of Learning at 264-5513 to confirm whether there will be tickets available at the door the night of the event.

Seeds of Learning is a 501(c)(3) non-profit early care and education center located in the heart of Pagosa Springs. Seeds has one toddler room, two preschool classrooms and one pre-K classroom.

The center relies on tuition, individual donations, grants and fund-raising events to continue the high quality program.

Please join us at the Little Black Dress for fun and festivities as well as an opportunity to support an important program offered to all Pagosa Springs families. See you on March 5.
