On Sunday, Feb. 27, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service will be ”Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter Here,” presented by Merlin Wheeler.
Wheeler has a profound interest in the role that words and language play in shaping our attitudes towards life, and how those attitudes influence our life. He points out that this program, which will offer a perspective on that subject, will be in support of the Fourth UU Principle, “A Free and Responsible Search for Truth and Meaning.”
Wheeler has attended the Pagosah Fellowship since early in his residence in Pagosa, in 2006, and is a member at large on the PUUF Steering Committee. Before retiring here, he was employed for twenty years at the Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M.
Confucius was a real person, but the way the story of his birth is told makes him out to be anything but ordinary. The young people of the congregation will hear this story and explore some of the sayings of Confucius. They will make up their own wisdom sayings and create a special snack to share.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign. All are welcome.
