Spaces available for spring rummage sale

We have spaces available for our upcoming Spring Rummage Sale. The Rummage Sale is set for Saturday, April 9, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Setup is on Friday, April 8, from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Rental space cost is $25 for a 10’x10’ space. The Rummage Sale is held in the Center’s 7,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose room.

An Introduction to Aromatherapy is a free class presented by Candace Newman, The Oil Lady, Tuesday, Feb. 15, 12-1 p.m. Candace has been practicing aromatherapy for 20 years. You can reach her at www.Oil-Lady.com or 731-1589.

Soup for the Soul Enriches the Lives of Hospice Patients. Local restaurants, businesses and artists have come together to help make a difference Thursday, Feb. 17, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Ross Aragón Community Center. Tickets can be purchased at Moonlight Books, Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and Hospice of Mercy/Mercy Home Health office or by calling the Mercy Foundation at 764-2800. Payment can be made by cash or checks only, please.

Lake McCullough, a certified herbalist, will present a free series of classes on the principles of herbal healing. Classes will be held on three consecutive Tuesdays — Feb. 22, March 1 and March 8 — from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The class schedule is as follows: “How Herbs Work”, “Common & Effective Herbs” and “Herbs for the Healthy Body”.

Weight Watchers meets every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Join the group as they teach you new ways to keep yourself on point and into the new you.

Free programs

Pickleball. Pickleball is a game for all ages. Classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 -11 a.m. to play. Please contact Sharon Athey, 731-1719, (480) 529-3748 or shathey@yahoo.com, or Fran Brown, 884-3184 if you would like to play.

Yoga. Join us Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10-11 a.m.

Hoopsters. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Warren and the guys are waiting for you to come out and play. They will play with just about anyone. The Hoopsters are a great group of guys getting out there twice a week for a good game of b-ball, come join them. Warren will be happy you did; he plays well with others.

Mah Jongg. Tuesday, 1-3 p.m., is when you can join in on a game of Mah Jongg. Every Tuesday, don’t forget, please call the center for any questions.

Dance for Health Class. Wednesdays 10-11:30 a.m. The use of yogic awareness, ballet/jazz/modern dance technique adds fun to create a full body workout. Class is geared to the older adult, but we are open to everyone. Wear loose, comfortable clothing; bring a mat and large towel or throw, and let your inner dancer free!

The community center has the space your are looking for, for those special events: weddings, baptismals, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding rehearsal dinners, company meetings, depositions, auctions, cooking classes, non-profit, personal/individual/private, and all your business needs. We have reasonably priced rooms to meet your event needs. Our rates range from $6 to $72 per hour. Room sizes accommodate 20, 40, 50, 90 or 500 people.

If you have an idea of an activity you would like the community center to sponsor, please call or stop by. We are always looking for new ideas.
