“He is called a child, whom he put among them, and said, Truly, I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter The Kingdom of Heaven.”
Remember when you were a child and wanted to stay up for the New Year? Some of you remember partying though the New Year. And now some of us deliberately sleep through the New Year.
Community United Methodist Church and St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church will split the difference when we come to the Lord as children with a Watch Service on New Year’s Eve, beginning at 9:30 p.m. at CUMC on Lewis Street.
We will look at the past, present and future through the eyes of a child and ring in the New Year with the church bell at 10 p.m. MST (Midnight somewhere). Then we will celebrate all God’s blessings to us with a service of Thanksgiving and Communion.
All are welcome to join us and you are invited to bring your teddy bear or other “cuddly” if you have one. If you really want to get in the spirit, you may wear your pajamas as well!
