For four years running, a dream has been fulfilled in the Pagosa community about the birth of Jesus Christ.
The dream: a collection of non-auditioned volunteer singers, from various churches, that would present a majestic and lively Christmas cantata with one goal — Jesus Christ.
From the beginning it was firmly decided that all involved, and their churches, would be given full recognition for their participation.
During the first two years the Christmas cantata was so well-received that it was expanded to include an additional free performance.
Again, the community responded and both presentations were very well-attended. Although performed at CrossRoad Christian Fellowship, churches represented were (in alphabetical order) Centerpoint Church, Community United Methodist Church, CrossRoad Christian Fellowship, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Pagosa Bible Church, Restoration Fellowship, and Trinity Anglican Church.
All guests were greeted with a group providing the kind of corner caroling prevalent in the 19th century. The candlelight cantata followed with majestic singing, an inspiring video presentation and all-you-can-eat goodies in the fellowship hall. A most-hearty “thank you” was given to all who were involved.
The dream lives on.
