The Pagosa Youth Center will host art camps for kids ages 6-8 years of age and 9 years old and up through Dec. 30.
The art camp will focus on wildlife, nature and landscapes. Drawing pencil, charcoal and pastels will be the focus of the classes.
The Little Angels program is one that Soledad, artist and AmeriCorps volunteer, brings to the Pagosa Youth Center to provide alternative activities for our youth of our community, while giving them an avenue of artistic expression.
The camp hours are from 9 to 11 a.m. for the 6- to 8-year-olds and noon to 3 p.m. for the older students.
The reduced tuition is $50 a week with all fees going to the Youth Center. Art materials and snacks are included for the students.
Students ages 13 and up can be at the Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. to use the facility like they do after school. A reminder: membership forms must be filled out. There is no cost to be a member of the Center, but information needs to be supplied. Food will be served over the holiday break.
On Thursday Dec. 30, the Center will host a New Year’s celebration for teens with dinner, games and prizes. The event starts at 5 p.m.
