Mark your calendars for Friday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs High School for this year’s Christmas Eve Celebration Service with Grace Church in Pagosa.
The Christmas Eve service at Grace this year will be a time of joyful celebration centering on the birth of Jesus Christ as the most important gift anyone could receive. All are welcome and invited. Bring your friends, family and neighbors and enjoy the warmth of community as we all come together to sit and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas amidst the hectic holiday hustle and bustle.
Featured this year will be the beautiful voice of Denise Chaney as’ Mary” as she sings a stirring version of the song by Francesca Batistelli’s entitled, “You’re Here.”
Scripture readings and the story of Jesus’ birth will be high points of the evening and will help tell the familiar story of Jesus’ extraordinary entrance into ordinary lives.
Another fun and meaningful portion of the evening will be Christmas songs and hymns for the entire family to sing along with. These songs will be lead by Grace’s music pastor Jason Rose and the Grace Christmas Choir. All songs will be accompanied by piano, guitar, mandola, cello and upright bass.
This family-centered service will include talents of all ages. DeEtte Phillips will be leading the Grace Dance team in a special arrangement of the song “For God So Loved the World.”
One point to be sure not to miss will be a new and inspiring song written especially for the evening by Jason Rose entitled “Break Forth O Beauteous Night” based on an old hymn of a similar name and the more familiar Christmas hymn, “Arise and Shine Your Light Has Come.”
Grace is also pleased to announce former professional NBA basketball player Bay Forrest will bring an inspiring Christmas message of encouragement and hope to those in attendance.
