SHY RABBIT group show continues through January

Since opening in early December, the SHY RABBIT holiday group show has attracted a large number of enthusiastic local and out-of-town art lovers, many who are discovering this highly unique art complex for the first time.

For nearly seven years SHY RABBIT has been exhibiting original contemporary ceramics, mixed media, paintings, sculpture, and works on paper by nationally recognized, mid-career and emerging regional artists.

The holiday group show continues through Jan. 30, featuring over 100 works of art by SHY RABBIT’s highly regarded gallery artists.

A selection of creatively crafted pottery by SHY RABBIT studio members is also on display, including a variety of bowls and lidded pots with southwestern motif, ikebana containers with lovely floral arrangements, decorative vases, and more.

There is truly something for everyone to enjoy in this wide-ranging display.

SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts is located — quite unexpectedly — on the west end of town in a former auto-repair shop and in one of Pagosa Springs’ commercial districts.

SHY RABBIT houses a fine art gallery and working ceramic studio, two mixed-media workshops and rotating exhibition spaces.

A visitor from New Mexico made the following comment after visiting SHY RABBIT for the first time recently:

“I can’t believe what a pearl this is! It is absolutely amazing in every regard.

“The space is gorgeous — and the artwork is simply unbelievable!

“I wish we had something like this in Albuquerque. I will tell everyone I know that they must make a trip up here to see this!”

SHY RABBIT has gained in notoriety for its contribution to the advancement of contemporary art in the Four Corners region, and for the high quality of its exhibitions, while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Artist workshops and professional artist development courses are also available for novice and professional artists alike.

SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts; Gallery, Studio and Workshops is located at 333 Bastille Drive; two blocks north of U.S. 160, off of North Pagosa Boulevard, west of the City Market complex.
