In all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, there’s an opportunity to relax, sit back with a hot “cuppa” and a delicious baked goodie, and take a long, deep breath this Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
Higher Grounds Coffee Shop will feature the Christmas Rose Ensemble, playing some of the best-known Christmas tunes along with several original tunes. Lead guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Jason Rose will play traditional songs of the season as well as several original tunes, accompanied by Mike Moore on mandolin, Kate Kelley on cello, Truett Forrest on double bass and featuring vocalist Denise Chaney. Brad Van Wormer will be joining the group as percussionist.
Jason Rose, who serves as Pastor of Worship at Grace in Pagosa, is a multi-talented musician whose gift for writing and arranging has become well known since he, his wife Heather and two daughters arrived in Pagosa Springs in March 2007. The group will present two of his latest pieces, “Break Forth O Beauteous Light,” and “Joseph’s Song.” Both numbers were extremely well received last week when they were debuted at River Pointe Coffee Café.
So break away from the busyness. Take a heartwarming rest and plan to relax at Higher Grounds, just a block north of City Market.
Think of it as a nice gift to give to yourself, and one you can unwrap early.
