Old-fashioned board games bring families together

In these difficult times, the Pagosa Springs community has jumped in to support the program to include board games with the Christmas food boxes to be distributed to needy people in the community by the Salvation Army. We are hoping some comfort and love can come from a family Christmas spent together with quality time playing board games. We could all benefit from an old-fashioned Christmas!

Pagosa Springs Rotary Club is organizing the project to collect 300 new board games to be distributed Dec. 18. We ask that the games be new, be Christmas wrapped, if possible, and have an attached sticky note stating what the game is and for what age level. The 4-H Clubs are also helping with wrapping the games.

Some good game suggestions are:

• Twister.

• Chutes & Ladders.

• Chinese Checkers.

• Operation.

• Pick-up Sticks.

• Pictionary.

• Yahtzee.

• Life.

• Very Hungry Caterpillar.

• Scrabble.

• Monopoly.

• Clue.

• Candy Land.

• Dominoes.

• Cards, card games.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Our drop-off points are both branches of Citizens Bank and Jann C. Pitcher Real Estate. Cash donations will also be accepted at any drop-off point until Dec. 15.
