There’s going to be a “Thrifttmas Party.”
The staff at the Methodist Thrift Shop invites everyone to the Archuleta County Extension Building on Friday, Dec. 10, from 7-10 p.m. for a festive “dress-up” Christmas celebration.
This is the chance for you to bring out your finest holiday attire for a fun evening of dancing and entertainment. This is an occasion where you can be “semi-formal” in Pagosa Springs.
The gala is being hosted by the thrift shop staff because they want to show their appreciation for the support that has been shown to them during 2010. They simply wish, in the spirit of Christmas, to “give back” to our community. This is to be a fun, affordable evening for everyone. A suggested donation at the door is only $3, and each party is asked to bring a snack, salad or other finger food to share at the buffet table. This is going to be a non-alcohol event, please.
A $3 admission charge will cover the cost of the band. And, speaking of the band — music will be provided by locally renowned “High Altitude Blues Band.” Band members are ready to play holiday and dance music intended to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
There have been many elegant holiday decor and gift items donated to the shop in 2010, and some of these will be available for you to bid on in the silent auction. There is no way all the Christmas donations can be displayed at the party, however, so Kimberly and her staff invite you to come and shop at the large “Christmas corner” in the store where you can find an amazing variety of goodies. The coffee or tea pot is always on, so be sure to enjoy a complimentary cup while you are there.
The Methodist Thrift Shop is a nonprofit organization that serves our community with a wide variety of services and merchandise. Most items the store receives are offered for sale, but other things are sent on to other charitable organizations as well. One never knows what treasures might show up there, so check the shop out regularly. Store hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Kimberly, Anne, Paula and Terry look forward to seeing you at the party as well as at the shop. If you have questions, call them at 264-2572.
