On Sunday, Nov. 28, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service will explore “Aikido: The Art of Peace,” in a presentation by Lisa Jensen and Bill Trimarco.
They point out that “The traditional Japanese non-competitive martial art of Aikido can be translated as the way of harmonizing with the life force of the universe.”
The local dojo, Aikido of the San Juans, is run by instructors Jensen and Trimarco. They both have been training for over 20years and hold third degree belts in Aikido.
This month the children and young people have been studying Buddhism. Sunday, their person of faith is the 14th Dalai Lama. They will create prayer flags and practice a meditative art form, mandalas.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign. All are welcome.
