Shop fair trade at the World Craft Fair

Join us for the fifth annual World Craft Fair

Pagosa Springs residents can invest in their world by shopping fair trade.

From Friday, Dec. 3 ,to Sunday, Dec. 5, Restoration Fellowship will host the World Craft Fair, featuring a collection of handcrafted home decor and gifts made by fairly paid artisans in more than 30 countries.

This event, which has expanded each year for the past five years, provides an opportunity for Pagosa Springs citizens to make a difference in the world right here in our community. Purchases made during the sale support the efforts of skilled artisans in Africa, Asia and Latin America, who receive a fair price for their work. Featured items include hand loomed textiles, pottery, jewelry, baskets, toys, Christmas decorations and more!

Each year Restoration Fellowship partners with Ten Thousand Villages, one of the oldest and largest fair trade retailers in North America. A nonprofit organization, Ten Thousand Villages approaches retail business in a different way: they create an international marketplace where the well-being of suppliers in Africa, Asia and Latin America is just as important as that of their North American customers. Ten Thousand Villages offers fair prices to artisans for their work, enabling them to provide for their basic needs and plan for their future.

The World Craft Fair will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 5, from noon to 5 p.m. at Restoration Fellowship, 264 Village Drive, located behind City Market.

A staff of dedicated volunteers from the Pagosa Springs community will help make this much-anticipated event a success.
