The Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts is following up its highly successful open house with another event — “Whaddyacallit Night!” on Dec. 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This special evening is hosted by Thingamajig Theatre Company and Pagosa Springs Arts Alliance and sponsored by Ten Thousand Waves of Santa Fe, N.M. Pagosa Springs Arts Alliance and Thingamajig Theatre Company are raising money to complete the renovations of the state-of-the-art performing arts venue and art gallery that were on display at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts open house. An architect and design team have been hired and funded; now the town of Pagosa Springs has the opportunity to lend a helping hand in bringing the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts to fruition and have fun doing it.
Teams of four people will compete for prizes, including the grand prize, generously donated by Ten Thousand Waves, a Japanese Spa and Resort that has been declared one of America’s “1,000 places to see before you die.” The games will include charades, Pictionary and arts trivia. If participants don’t like to act or draw, or if their team gets a tough card, actors and artist will be available for hire, at $5 a turn, to perform or draw for teams.
This is a perfect event for parents with small children who are look for a night out. There will be babysitters with games and movies in the upstairs rooms. Parents must register their children when they register their team. Cost is $10 per child for the two hour event.
Teams are encouraged bring food and drink for their own tables or for barter with the other teams.
Teams of four can register by sending a team name and a check to Pagosa Springs Arts Alliance for $140. All registration must be in by Dec. 8. Teams can also register by contacting PSAA board members, Laura Moore @ firstname.lastname@example.org, Dale Morris or Kim Moore.
