Gift bags and holiday cards

All area women are invited to participate in a fun day of making holiday greeting cards and decorated bags for gift giving.

The day of fun and creativity will take place Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Extension Office at the fairgrounds. The event is sponsored by Mountain View Homemakers but interested women do not have to be members to attend and enjoy making cards and bags.

Those who want to participate should arrive at 9 a.m., bring a bag lunch, and plan to stay till about 2:30 p.m. The Homemakers board of directors will take a break to conduct a brief director’s’ meeting between noon and 1 p.m. so those who want to leave for lunch and return can do so.

Mary Webb, president of Mountain View Homemakers, will be the leader/teacher. All supplies, including scissors, stickers, cards for cutouts, the cards and bags will be provided.

If you have questions, call Mary at 731-1288.

Everyone is asked to bring a bag of non-perishables. Your bag might contain canned and boxed food, personal care items such as shampoo, home care products such as dishwashing soap, and paper products. The bags will be donated to a local non-profit effort that helps families be prepared for the holidays.
