Mountain View Homemakers will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Extension Building at the fairgrounds.
At 11 a.m. the Pagosa Springs High School choir will present a program of Christmas music. This presentation is always a big hit with the members and their guests.
At noon, or a bit before, a covered dish lunch will be enjoyed by the choir and their appreciative audience. The ”turkey-and-all-the-trimmings” lunch with “amazing desserts” is always a big hit with the choir members before they return to school.
Following a goodbye to the choir, a traditional gift exchange game will be enjoyed by the members and any other women who would like to join in for the day. Each person should bring a wrapped gift in the $12-$15 range. This is one of the most fun meetings and members look forward to it each year. Former members or members who have not attended lately are especially urged to come and enjoy this special day.
Mountain View Homemakers is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable.
Every meeting includes lunch and either a speaker or two dealing with topic of community interest or providing a hands-on community project. One auction fund-raiser every summer results in contributions to eight local non-profit efforts.
There are no dues, and women who attend their second meeting automatically become members.
