The Town of Pagosa Springs, Archuleta County and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have developed a U.S. 160 Access Control Plan (ACP).
The plan encompasses the highway corridor between South 8th Street west to Vista Boulevard.
The Access Control Plan is a conceptual plan for vehicular access to U.S. 160 and future secondary roads to:
• Maintain efficient, safe and smooth traffic flows.
• Reduce potential accidents.
• Provide functional traffic levels.
• Optimize traffic capacity.
• Effectively space traffic signals.
• Protect the public health, safety and welfare.
In the near future, The Town of Pagosa Springs, Archuleta County and the Colorado Department of Transportation intend to formerly adopt the ACP during regularly scheduled meetings in December to ensure the scheme is used for all future planning in the community.
An open house and presentation are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 15, at the Ross Aragon Community Center, located at 451 Hot Springs Blvd.
The open house will take place 4-5:30 p.m.; the information session will be from 5:30-7.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
