Madeline Lincecum Anderson Barta of Pleasanton, Texas, onetime resident of Pagosa Springs, passed away at her residence on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the age of 86.
Madeline was born on July 15, 1924, in Sikeston, Mo., to Cliff and Blanche Lincecum. She had a varied professional career including many years of service to Exxon. She enjoyed traveling, reading, painting and nature. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Public Library and singing in the United Methodist Church choir when she lived in Leakey. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved first husband, Jack Anderson. She is survived by her three children: son, Bruce Anderson of Corpus Christi, son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Mary Helen Anderson of Corpus Christi; daughter, Judy Spencer of Heidelberg, Germany; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Margaret Lincecum of Corpus Christi; grandchildren David Daugaard, Josh Anderson, Ryan Anderson; great-grandchildren Leah Curtis, Amber, Austin and Aero Anderson; Ethan, Scarlett and Phoenix Anderson; great-great-granddaughter Ilyana Perdomo.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, with Rev. Doug Smith officiating. Interment was at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville. Anyone wishing to sign the guestbook, share memories or issue condolences may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com.
