Pastor Andrew Baker at home, at Calvary Pagosa

Calvary Pagosa was planted in Pastor Andrew Baker’s heart while on a hunting trip to Pagosa Springs in 2007.

With much prayer and leading of the Holy Spirit, the calling to plant Calvary Pagosa became an answer to prayer during the summer of 2009.  The Lord provided the way for Pastor Andrew and his family to relocate from Aurora, Colo., to Pagosa Springs in October 2009 The first service was held in Pastor Andrew Baker’s home.  One week later services started at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center, Sundays at 9 a.m..  God has blessed the fellowship by adding to the body of believers and by being able to reach the community by way of radio on Sunday mornings.

Pastor Andrew grew up in Northern California and came to the Lord at a young age.  He moved to Colorado to attend Colorado Christian University where he received a degree in biology and the Bible.  Andrew has a passion for the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ lead him to teach Bible Studies.  Prior to coming to Pagosa Springs Pastor Andrew served at Calvary Aurora for eight years as the youth pastor.

Pastor Andrew has a heart for our community and a love for the people.  He desires all to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to grow in knowledge of the Lord by the teaching of God’s Word, verse by verse and precept upon precept.

Our statement of faith is:  Calvary has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  Our supreme desire is know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such; only to their overemphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.  We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ’s (Agape) love, which is greater than differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

Pastor Andrew is supported and encouraged by his wife of 14 years, Ronda.  They have four wonderful children.  They also have another blessing on the way.  They are quite involved with their children, grounding them in the Lord’s ways.  He loves hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his family.
