To the couple in Wildflower that found my wallet in the middle of Piedra Road, thank you — times a million! It never fails, the people of this little town often make a big difference. And forgive me — I didn’t even catch your name. Take care, and wishing you a wonderful summer.
There are many people to thank for their contributions and participation at the High Rollers dance/concert benefit last Friday evening. To begin with, we’d like to say “thank you” to everyone who helped get the word out. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the turnout. Thanks to Stacy Kirby of the Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to share the park, and Jim Miller and Chris Gallegos of the Town of Pagosa Springs for working with us to get things ready. Thank you to those who donated and worked hard to prepare concessions, particularly Linda Janowsky and her mother, Jessie Brumley, Mary Jo Janowsky for donating drinks, and, of course, Mike Branch for the delicious brisket and pulled pork. Thanks to the many people who made the event fun by their attendance and participation, and for all those who donated, particularly Pat and Debbie Candelaria and Boot Hill for their generous contributions. And once again, thanks to the High Rollers who put on another great show, this time in spite of the heat. (The High Rollers have now played for us through every type of weather known to Pagosa except snow.) Proceeds from the event will be used primarily to defray travel costs in the upcoming year. Regardless of how you found out about it or why you were there, thanks to all for making it a fun evening in Town Park.

Seeds of Learning would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Pagosa Springs Women’s Golf Association for donating the proceeds of the Pine Cone Classic Golf Tournament to the center. A record-breaking $9,115 was raised and donated this year. Proceeds will go toward the food program. A special thank you to Carole Howard for nominating Seeds and always believing in us. And last, but not least, a big thank you to Donna Gregory, chair of the Pine Cone Classic. She and her committee worked very hard to make the event such a success. Thanks again from 52 kiddos at Seeds of Learning.
