James Lawrence (Larry) Minor was called home by his Savior on July 13, 2010. Larry was a resident at Pine Ridge Care Center, Pagosa Springs, for the past five years.
He was born on March 21, 1917, in Upper St. Clair to Spencer and Elizabeth (Morrow) Minor. For most of his life, he lived on Morrow Road in Upper St. Clair, moving to Pagosa Springs with his son, David, in 2002. He attended Bridgeville High School where he was active in several sports and upon graduation played semipro football. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Matesia in Pittsburgh, Penn., in May, 1939. She predeceased him in September 1992. They enjoyed 53 years of a devoted and loving marriage. Larry was a carpenter and contractor in the Bridgeville area for 50 years, building new homes and additions.
All who knew him loved and respected him for his character and talent. He was devoted to his family and will be sorely missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Spencer Gregg (Josephine) Minor, David (Cynthia) Minor and daughter, Susan (William) Green; grandchildren Keith, David and Jeffrey Minor, Tara Minor, Laura Aderhold, Paula Wedgebury, Jennifer and Ryan Green, Teri Stewart and Angela Wheland and great grandchildren, Stephen and Matthew Minor, Sydney Aderhold, Gianna and Roman Wedgebury, Kate Stewart and Ian Ainsley Wheland.
