As the Pagosa Mountain Hospital continues to grow and support the people of Pagosa Springs, the needs increase for new diagnostic equipment.
“There are several items on our list,” said Brad Cochennet, the hospital CEO. “For example, one of the items on the list is an ultrasound machine. These can be used for a variety of diagnostics. Ultrasound machines create images that allow various organs in the body to be examined. The machine sends out high-frequency sound waves, which reflect the body structures. A computer receives these waves and uses them to create a picture. Unlike an x-ray or CT scan, there is not ionizing radiation exposure with this test. The ultrasound machine can be used for diagnosing medical problems, in many parts of the body. For example some of the uses are cardiovascular, watching the blood flow through the arteries and vein, OB/GYN, urology, abdominal, liver, spleen and pancreas. Ultrasound is a necessary tool for our physicians and our patients.”
The Dr. Mary Fisher Hospital Foundation is presenting this wonderful upscale evening of fun, food and music to raise money for equipment, and to say farewell to Dr. Wienpahl. You won’t want to miss this one.
