Archuleta County High School and GED graduates were honored at an evening ceremony on Friday, May 21.

The ceremony took place at the Parish Hall and was attended by more than 200 guests.

Students who received an Archuleta County High School diploma were Chelsea Accaputo-Steventon, Bridgette Brule, Mickey Calvillo, Ashley Foster, Josh Herrera, Nick Jackson, Alisa Murray, Steven Roberts, Pierre Roemer, Nahtanha Sell, Jo Jo Spinelli and Steven Weed. Students not present at the ceremony, but also earning their high school diplomas, were Christopher Johnson and Beth Anne Lucero.

Archuleta County Education Center GED recipients were Wendy Baird, Andrea Burch, Randall Dobson, Anna Fort, Julie Holt, Shaun Jackson, Josie Montoya, Virginia Pintal, Kaitlin Scarpinato, Anthony Spinelle, Boone Stahlnecker, Cassidy Stahlnecker and Francis Ulatowski.

John Graves provided the music prior to and during the graduation ceremony.

Randy Barlow, a successful businessman and recipient of the GED in 1974, was the keynote speaker. His message to the graduates was centered on the idea of moving forward with additional education and learning to adapt to one’s surroundings in order to be successful. “Learning from other’s mistakes rather than making them all yourself,” was a key concept presented by Barlow during his address.
