The Dr. Mary Fisher Medial Foundation is cordially inviting the community to two events paying a farewell tribute to Dr. Mark Wienpahl as he concludes his medical practice in Pagosa Springs and departs from the Pagosa area.
Saturday, June 26, will include two very different events. First, the community is invited to Pagosa Mountain Hospital at 1 p.m. for a reception honoring Dr. Wienpahl and unveiling a tribute to his decades of medical service in Archuleta County. At 6 p.m. that evening, the barn at Hidden Valley Ranch will be the site of a western party including dinner, entertainment, dancing and continuing the celebration of Dr. Wienpahl’s service to this community. Invitations for this event have been mailed. If you did not receive an invitation and are interested in the event, please contact Michelle Visel at 264-2797.
The event is labeled as a “Fund$ie” which is the new mark for the Foundation’s fund-raising events that will occur annually and provide enjoyable ways to celebrate the achievements of the healthcare community while donating to the Foundation. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible and provide ongoing financial support for the continued enhanced services provided by the hospital.
The inception of a non-profit organization financially supporting public health work in Archuleta County began in 1959. Over the years, this non-profit entity has taken many forms and stewarded many projects but has always been governed by a board whose intent is to support the health care services in this county. Currently, and since the early 1990s, the Dr. Mary Fisher Medial Foundation has been in place to assist, benefit and support the Upper San Juan Health Service District which is now operating the Pagosa Mountain Hospital.
Please come help us celebrate Dr. Wienpahl, the Pagosa Mountain Hospital, and the Foundation. For more information, please contact Michelle Visel 264-2797, Lisa Scott 264-2730 or Kathi DeClark 946-2057.
