The La Plata-Archuleta Farm Bureau has awarded eight $1,000 scholarships to young people who live in Archuleta and La Plata counties, and are continuing their education at an institution of higher learning. Several of this year’s recipients are recent high school graduates, while others are already in college and well on the way to completing a college degree. Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Farm Bureau’s Scholarships.
Pagosa area recipients are:
Waylon Lucero, who will graduate from Pagosa Springs High School. Waylon plans to begin his studies at Adams State in Alamosa. He wants to major in wildlife biology.
Raesha Ray, cousin of Waylon Lucero, is attending Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D. This fall, Raesha will be returning to Spearfish to continue her education with a major in biology.
