On Saturday evening, April 24, the Pagosa Springs Rotary Club is betting on you.
Betting you will turn out to support a long list of projects that benefit our community.
Betting you like to have a lot of fun with your friends and neighbors at the same time.
This is the tenth Rotary Casino Night and the tenth time Rotary has made this bet and the club and community have never lost. Your $30 ticket is the best bet you will ever make because when the community wins we all win.
Who doesn’t like to make an occasional bet?
“You Betcha” has become a popular phrase. We bet on ball games, horses, dogs, the stock market and golf. In “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”, Mark Twain explained that people will bet on anything and everything. Why not bet on a sure thing like student scholarships, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Helping Hand, Pagosa Outreach Connection, school supplies, the 9Health Fair and many more.
All of the planning and arrangements for Casino Night are coming together. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, at Higher Grounds Coffee shop or from any Rotary Club member. Farrago’s will prepare a wide variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres. Pagosa Baking Company will provide many tasty deserts. Beverages of all kinds have been acquired. The croupiers are being trained and the gaming wheels and tables are being prepared. Several dozen prizes and sale items have been contributed by local establishments and more are being added to the list every day. These contributed items include special dining experiences, luxury pampering sessions for your body and psyche, getaway lodging opportunities and a host of thoughtful items from local stores upon which you may bid. There will be a silent auction and a live auction as well as a drawing for prizes.
The theme is Monte Carlo Casino Night and it’s the place for all the high rollers to be and be seen.
Those who wish to come in costume will compete for a prize as the best-dressed male and female.
Every effort is being made to ensure that Monte Carlo Casino Night will be a special occasion, both enjoyable and of great benefit to the community. Saturday, April 24, is the date. The Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse is the place, and 7 p.m. is the starting time.
Sounds like a really good time. See you there.
