The Fire Service in the United States has for more than 200 years served our communities in time of need.
These uncertain and trying times have found many of our citizens needing help just to survive the winter and economic trials they face.
We are standing up to help out in the effort to gather food and money to support the Community Food Bank of Pagosa Springs, because our community needs us, now! On Saturday, April 10, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., members of the Pagosa Fire Department will be on hand with La Plata Electric Association’s International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers at both City Market locations to accept donations of food and money at the “Fill the Bucket” event to add supplies to the Community Food Bank.
Even though there have been efforts this winter to build up the supplies, the need has outweighed the supply. We sincerely hope that the community will once again meet this challenge to help those who are hurting and in need.
If you have any questions about this food drive, you can contact Mike Alley of LPEA at 749-0260, or Ron Thompson of the Fire District at 731-4191.
The fire department makes every effort to be there when people are in need of help, and this is one of those times. We look forward to seeing a lot of friends and neighbors on April 10 at either of the City Market locations.
Please come out and help “Fill the Bucket.”
