It is fitting that the fabric selected for this year’s St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church annual raffle quilt is from Moda’s “Collections for a Cause.”
The stunning, queen-size quilt, sewn by a dozen women in early March, will be raffled off during the church’s annual summer Shamrock Festival with the proceeds again being awarded to Archuleta County non-profit organizations. The 2009 raffle quilt raised $4,200 for local charities.
The 2010 Shamrock Quilt is an Arrowhead Star pattern made with fabric that beautifully incorporates various red, brown, blue and tan hues. Matching pillow shams will complete the set. This is the seventh annual quilt offered by St. Patrick’s, and possibly, the most beautiful.
The church’s annual Shamrock Festival is scheduled for Aug. 21 and quilt raffle tickets will go on sale in April. Tickets will be available at the church office, 225 S. Pagosa Blvd., 731-5801, and will also be sold at various venues throughout the summer.
