Archuleta County Republican Women are hosting their annual Lincoln Day Luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 9 at noon at JJ’s Restaurant. There will be a social meet and greet from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
This year, our speaker will be retired Army Col. Bob McConnell, who is running for the 3rd Congressional District of Colorado challenging incumbent John Salazar.
As an Airborne Ranger, McConnell led soldiers in Germany and Vietnam, served in the JAG corps at forts Carson and Monmouth, and at the Pentagon. He has been a mountaineer, founded the Everest Environmental Project and is a life member of the NRA. He understands economic, agricultural and environmental issues in the 3rd District and is committed to finding practical solutions to real problems through limited government lower taxes, free markets, strong national defense, protecting individual rights, and developing individual responsibilities.
If you have not heard Bob McConnell, now is your chance — Bob is a dynamic, conservative candidate.
In addition to the speaker, we will have a silent auction and door prizes, and our own “Abe” will be there to share some Lincoln humor with us.
Tickets for this event are $18, which includes a full lunch, desert, coffee or tea, tax and gratuity. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce or by calling Barbara at 731-9916. There is limited seating, so tickets must be purchased by Feb. 3.
