Kitty Marie Schultz Aragon, age 39, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kitty was born Nov. 3, 1970, in Cody, Wyo., the daughter of Al and Judy Schultz. She was fourth-generation Cody, graduating from Cody High School and receiving a degree from Northwest College in Powell, Wyo.
Kitty married her best friend, Mark, in the majestic mountains outside Pagosa Springs, Colo., and from that day on they never looked back.
Kitty enjoyed all aspects of the cowboy way of life. She was very active in team roping and horse training, where she achieved some of the highest accomplishments of her life. Kitty was always happiest with Mark and her family, pursuing the western way of life, which included hunting, fishing, camping, branding and watching sports. She was a proud member of the United States Team Roping Championships, Wrangler Team Roping Championships, and the New Mexico Rodeo Association.
Kitty had an amazing gift of talent as an incredible craftswoman and loved creating exquisite pieces out of leather, metal and wood. She started KM Leather Designs several years ago and took great pride in all of her work and gifting these pieces to family and friends.
Her survivors include her husband, Mark; parents Al and Judy Schultz; Misty Schultz, Cherain and Brett Richmond of Cody; Eric and Diana Aragon, Stacia and Matt Aragon, Jacque Aragon and Jeremy Black, Cody and Shelly Fahrion, all of Pagosa Springs, and Jake and Juanita Jolly of Parker. Colo.; Ross Aragon of Pagosa Springs; Zack Oliver of Cody; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents Ernie and Helen Schultz and Jim and Kitty Fike, and Patty Aragon.
Memorial services for Kitty will be Thursday, Jan., 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Ballard Funeral Home in Cody.
