Skate Day benefits United Way

AmeriCorps volunteers will host a fund-raiser for United Way on Monday, Jan. 18, at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center (off Hermosa Street), which is a day off from school here in Pagosa Springs.

This AmeriCorps day of service is to honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Children ages 5-12 are invited to come as early as 8:30 a.m. for a pancake breakfast and to play games, skate, do crafts and even stay through lunch.

Teens are welcome to join us for lunch and stay through dinner. The older participants will have use of the whole building.

A $10 donation from anyone in the community will help raise funds for United Way. United Way supports many of the youth programs here in Archuleta County and the Pagosa Springs Youth Center provides a safe environment for all the youth in the community.

Parents are welcome to join the children or leave them for the morning session after registering them.

Please bring a helmet if planning to skate.
