Saturday drawing workshops to resume

The much-loved Saturday drawing workshop with Randall Davis will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in the community center Arts and Crafts Room.

The cost is $38 and you can call PSAC at 264-5020 to register and prepay for the class.

Local artists in Durango

The Durango Arts Center accepted several Pagosa Springs artists’ works at its 14th annual Four Corners Commission Exhibit. The work in the show is excellent and includes photography, oils, pastels, jewelry, watercolors and mixed media.

Among the local artists with works on exhibit at DAC through the month of January are Denise Pitchon, Virginia Bartlett, Carol Schneider, Sandy Applegate and Robert Green.

Sandy Applegate won the Durango Chamber of Commerce “Reflections of Durango” prize. The winning painting will be featured in Durango’s Chamber of Commerce promotional literature and signed prints will be available in 2011.

Lorraine Trenholm, a PSAC member from Ignacio, won the “Juror’s Choice” award which is second to Best in Show.

These area artists’ works were selected from nearly 150 entrants from throughout the Four Corners region.

The Photo Club meets the second Wednesday of each month during the club year from September through May at 6 p.m. Interested photography enthusiasts are welcome to attend at no charge for the first meeting.
