Pagosa Country to get break from winter weather

The snow that graced Pagosa Country through the beginning of the week will give way to partly cloudy skies through at least Tuesday.

A few flurries or snow showers are possible today, ceasing around 11 a.m., with a high of 27, according to PagosaCam.com and the National Weather Service.

New Year’s Day and Saturday will see temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s. Saturday also offers a 30-percent chance for a few snow showers, according to weather.com.

A slight cooldown is then expected, putting the high Sunday at 30 degrees, then falling into the upper 20s moving into next week.

As of Wednesday morning, this week’s snow showers added six inches to the amounts at Wolf Creek Ski Area, making the year-to-date snowfall 180 inches. Midway snow depth on the mountain was 76 inches Wednesday morning.
