SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts: Gallery, Studio and Workshops announces its workshop schedule for January through March 2010.
This is the perfect opportunity to participate in one of SHY RABBIT’s popular workshops, or to give one as a holiday gift.
Classes are designed for novice and experienced artists alike, and are also geared for individuals that are simply interested in expanding their creativity in a fun, relaxed and nurturing environment.

Workshops currently scheduled for 2010 include:
Basic Ceramic Techniques and Hand-Building I-(Introductory)
January 23 and 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Course fee: $215.
This two-day introductory workshop focuses on hand forming, texturing, and assembling clay, all without the use of a potter’s wheel or other equipment. Students are introduced to coil, pinch, and slab methods of construction, preparing them for continuing work in ceramics if desired.
Ceramics from the Potter’s Wheel I-(Introductory)
This course runs five consecutive Wednesday evenings, January 27 – February 24, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Course fee: $275. Glazing date to be determined.
Open studio time is also included in the course fee.
This five-week introductory course is designed for novice and experienced potters alike. Participants will learn the concepts of wedging, centering, opening, pulling and shaping forms, trimming and finishing, and glazing.
Printmaking without a Press I-(Introductory)
March 13 and 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Course fee: $215.
This two-day introductory workshop utilizes a unique hand-pressed printing process called “Reductive Ink”™, designed and developed by professional artist D. Michael Coffee.
Printmaking without a Press is high in content and uses inexpensive, low-tech materials that can be easily used in a home studio environment. It is designed for those with or without printmaking experience.
Workshop fees include all necessary course materials. Ceramic workshop fees also include a tool kit that participants may keep for future use.
Intermediate and advanced levels are also offered for all WORK-shops @ SHY RABBIT, for those interested in continuing their art education.
WORK-shops @ SHY RABBIT are held in one of two spacious 1,000 square-foot mixed media studios, and are instructed by professional artist and ceramist D. Michael Coffee.
