A Contra dance is scheduled for Saturday at  Park Elementary School, 510 E.  6th Ave., Durango.

At 6 p.m., a community potluck will be held that is open to all.  Bring a dish to share. 

Beginner dance instruction is at 7.

The Contra Dance with Hot Tops Band from Santa Fe, and caller Eleanor Fahrney, from Buena Vista, is at 7:30.

All dances are taught and called.  No partner is necessary, and dancers of all ages and abilities are welcome.  Admission is $10.  First-timers get a pass to come back for free.

These smoke-and alcohol-free dances are a project of the Durango Arts Center.
