The Stevens Field Aviation Venture Crew (The Crew) will host an open house and organizational meeting at 6 p.m., today (Nov. 1) at Nicks Hangar, just off of Piedra Road. The Crew welcomes visitors and new members with an interest in aviation. All young men and women aged 14 to 20 — and parents — are encouraged to attend. An annual membership costs just $15 for a fascinating year-round program.
As part of tonight’s agenda, airport management will host a tour of the various facilities and aircraft on the field.
The Crew will also plan upcoming events and examination of the exciting world of aviation, including air traffic control, becoming a licensed pilot, military flying, available scholarship programs, and a variety aviation careers.
Throughout the year, members will participate in the many Stevens Field events, assist with servicing aircraft, and meet pilots and crews.
