Columbine Ranger District fire crews will conduct a prescribed burn today on 230 acres of public lands in the First Notch area of the San Juan National Forest.  

The burning operation will be taking place about two miles north of U.S. 160 in the Yellow Jacket Pass area between Bayfield and Pagosa Springs.  

Smoke may settle along the highway tonight or tomorrow morning.
