San Juan Basin Health Department in Pagosa Springs is offering two options for individuals in special population groups to receive their H1N1 vaccination.
They can come to a walk-in clinic on Nov. 17 or schedule an appointment for any Monday beginning Nov. 9. Individuals from the following groups are eligible:
• Children 6 months to 24 years old;
• Health care professionals (all);
• Caregivers of children under 6 months;
• Pregnant women;
• Teachers; or
• Adults with chronic high risk health conditions (diabetes; chronic respiratory conditions; immune compromised persons; those on aspirin therapy; cancer; severe neurologic conditions (MS, muscular dystrophy).
Individuals in these groups can call 264-2409, Ext. 0 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available on Mondays from 4 to 5:15 p.m. beginning Nov. 9.
Additionally, these individuals can come to the walk-in clinic on Tuesday, Nov. 17, between 4 and 6 p.m. This clinic will be held at San Juan Basin Health in Pagosa Springs. Please note that as more vaccine becomes available, we will be getting it to more populations in our community.
The H1N1 vaccinations are free. Individuals can choose to make a voluntary donation toward covering the cost of administering these vaccines if they wish.
