If you are starting to get into Christmas gift-searching mode, or are just looking for something special for yourself, plan on attending the Civic Club Bazaar on Saturday.
The San Juan Historical Society will have a booth featuring items of local interest. We’ll be located in the South Conference Room at the community center.
In 2008, the society created a deck of historical playing cards. An order of 1,100 decks was placed. With most of those sold, the society placed an order for an additional set of cards.
On the new order, the back of the cards has been changed to a colorized photo of the hot springs and old bath house. The cards, both the original set and edition 1.1, will be available for $10 per deck, plus tax.
Members have created tote bags with prices beginning at $8 for a child-size bag. Covered wagon dolls, which have been a hit at the local museum gift shop, will be offered.
The society will also have local and regional history books for sale. This will be a great time to purchase gifts of local interest with that extra special touch. The bazaar will be at the community center on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
