Wild Pagosa Outdoor program to host 5K and Kids’ Fun Run Saturday

Dust off your running shoes and join us in Town Park Saturday for a great time.

The Wild Pagosa Outdoor Education Program is hosting a 5K run and Kids’ Fun Run on the morning of Oct. 31.

The 5K begins in Town Park at 10 a.m., and the Kids’ Fun Run begins at 11:30 a.m.

All participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Early registration for the 5K is $20 and $25 on the day of the race. T-shirts are included, while they last, for the 5K run. Early registration for the Kids’ Fun Run is $5 and $10 on the day of the race. Prizes will be awarded for the Fun Run.

The Wild Pagosa Outdoor Education Program, based in Pagosa Springs, was designed to enable youth to reconnect with the outdoors through sensory exploration and hands-on experiences that help synthesize learning.

One of the primary goals of the program is to get kids out in nature in order to foster a deep respect and appreciation for the natural world. This past summer, Wild Pagosa had the opportunity to serve 55 local children in grades one to six.

Proceeds from this race will help fund the operational costs of the program, and ensure its continued success.

Participants can register locally at the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce and at ReSport in the Pagosa Country Center.
