The Pagosa Springs ATV Club, Pagosa Trail Riders, will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant.
The club is for all ATV riders, be they individuals, families or corporate sponsors. Prospective members are welcome to attend the meeting.
The local club is comprised of ATV riders of all ages and skill levels. Organized rides are scheduled each month
from May through October. Each ride has an experienced leader and the rides are graded according to difficulty, so no one gets in over their head. Most rides are on Forest Service maintained roads and trails.
The last PTR ride was up First Notch Road just west of the Piedra River. It included 12 riders on eight vehicles, covering 45 miles over four hours up to Baldy Mountain, followed by grilled hamburgers and fellowship in the parking lot. Planned rides are scheduled in Archuleta County and on the east side of the Continental Divide.
The club puts safety first on all rides, with helmets required of all riders and no consumption of alcohol allowed during the rides.
